7 Simple Ways to Welcome Spring
The ground is still covered in dirty white snow here in my neck of the woods but it's almost officially spring! The days are getting longer and the geese are back from their winter jaunt south. The season of weddings, graduations, religious holidays, recitals and more is upon us. To prepare for the activities coming in the months ahead, I’m sharing 7 simple ways to welcome spring.
- Buy fresh flowers - Even if you can’t yet see them popping out of the ground (like me) you can still welcome spring colors and fragrances inside.
- Find a new route for your walk - Get out of your rut and try something new. What fun new things can you find when you take a different path?
- Send a handwritten note - Be intentional and spend a few extra minutes sharing your thoughts as you send gifts this season.
- Open the windows - Bid the stale winter air goodbye and welcome in the sounds of spring.
- Volunteer at your church for the holiday celebrations - Participating in an event from the ‘back of the house’ can provide you with a new perspective.
- Clean out your coat closet - Say goodbye to winter with a refresh of your coat closet. Donate what you didn’t wear this past season (be honest!) and move the current season’s items to the front so they are easily accessible. If you're feeling ambitious, you can move on to other closets, too!
- Set boundaries - With the variety of events, this time of year can get crazier than the fall holidays. You might not be able to attend everything that comes up so spend a bit of time getting clear on what’s a “yes” and what’s a “no” for this season. Choose intentionally and stick with your plans. And let go of the guilt!
It will be summer before we know it so take time to slow down and embrace spring! To Simplicity & Joy,Lisa
