My 2016 Word of the Year
Happy New Year to you and yours! We’ve flipped the calendar and that means it’s time for a new word of the year.As I’ve done in prior years, this one chosen word serves as a guide for me to focus on throughout the year. It will infuse various aspects of my life. It’s meant to improve who I am and how I show up in this world. For 2016, I’ve chosen a word that’s been coming up for me for quite a while. However, it wasn’t until now that I felt like this word was a good fit.The word I’ve chosen for this year is flourish. The definition for this word includes, “to thrive, to be successful, to prosper, to grow luxuriantly.” It is my intent to infuse this concept into all aspects of my life and to support others in doing the same. As a mother, a wife, an entrepreneur, a friend, a coach and more, I will encourage those in my life to flourish, each in their own unique way.Having spent much of the past few years of my life in transition, I’ve personally worked through the process of planting seeds, providing space and allowing time for all of my new endeavors to take root. It’s time now to focus on providing nourishment and watching the seedlings grow and flourish-in my life and in the lives of those around me.Simplifying your life is a process. A process that takes time. I’ve lived through many stages of this process in my own life with my family and I’ve supported others as they journey through the process in their lives. I’ve found joy in each stage and I look forward to all that flourishes in 2016.I’d love to know if you choose a word of the year and, if so, what words you’ve chosen. Leave a comment or send me a note. And in case you’re wondering what words I’ve had in the past, they include joy, love and presence. You can read more about my experience with last year’s word, presence, here.To Simplicity & Joy,Lisa
