Please Stop Waiting for Someday

Do you have a dream?  Are there things you wish you could do during your lifetime?  Places you want to visit?  People you want to meet?

Imagine what it would be like to cross that finish line, set foot in that new country, stand in front of that audience, be the leader of that organization, or get your kids off the bus everyday….

We are blessed with day-to-day life responsibilities.  And we are also blessed with possibility, creativity, courage and wisdom…all of the things that make it possible to achieve what we want.

If any of these questions have hit a nerve or sparkedsomething in you, it’s time for you to stop waiting for someday to go afteryour dream.

Not long ago, I said goodbye to my 12-year old nephew who died suddenly doing what he loved.  If you’ve ever had a similar experience-laughing, dancing, enjoying life with someone you love one week, then completely, unexpectedly, saying goodbye to them the next, you know what it’s like to grieve and face the difficult reality that life will end one day for you, too…

It’s time for you to stop waiting for someday to go afteryour dream.

Will you join me in saying yes to your dreams?  Will you pursue them wholeheartedly, in the midst of the chaos and challenges and clutter and noise of everyday life?

If you’re choosing “yes,” here are 10 things you can do right now to get started.

  1. Write about your dreams - there's power in writing them down
  2. Tell someone all the details-the big ones and the little ones - there's power in saying them out loud
  3. Research other people who’ve done something similar - let them be your inspiration
  4. Learn more about the thing you want to do - you'll get fresh ideas
  5. Study the history of it - get to know the back story
  6. Subscribe to Google alerts about the topic - stay up to date on what's happening related to it
  7. Write a list of 52 things you can do to make it happen then do one of these things each week
  8. If it costs money, create an account or better yet, start a savings jar so you can see the impact of your savings building up
  9. If it requires physical strength or endurance, go for a walk, find a staircase and climb it up and down for 10 minutes, then double it tomorrow
  10. Buddy up with someone else who is also done waiting for someday to achieve their dream and be accountability partners

Send me a note and tell me what dream you’re going after and I’ll celebrate and encourage you.

I know you can achieve what you want.

I know it is possible.

I know there might be challenges along the way.

But I know you can do it.

We all can.

Cheers to you and the achievement of your dreams!

Lisa
